We have all been impacted by the spread of this horrible coronavirus. In these uncertain times, we want you to know that our mission continues and we need your support now more than ever.

Re-Creation, that fantastic volunteer group who’s mission we help to support, cannot currently perform at the medical centers where a lot of our veterans pass their days. Our government has decided to stop all visitors to these centers for the time being. We support their decisions because they are doing what they can to protect our veterans, but in doing so, many veterans lose the opportunity to see a wonderful show and smile. In response, Re-Creation has recorded their performances and these shows are available to medical centers on request.

In addition to craft kits, we are now sending DVD players and movies directly to as many medical centers as we can to help put smiles on the faces of these elderly veterans.

These American heroes stuck in medical facilities are already lonely and will now not be allowed to have any visitors so we need your help now more than ever to keep their spirits up and remind them that they are not forgotten.

CHF thanks you for your support of our mission and we hope that you and your loved ones remain safe during these difficult times.

Our craft kit program supplies therapeutic craft kits to veterans at VA hospitals and state veteran homes. Building the craft kits is physically therapeutic in many ways of course, but perhaps more importantly it lifts their spirits by giving the veteran the feeling of accomplishment that comes from completing a project from start to finish and the pride of showing their work to others.

Many of these veterans go from having the most important job in the world, protecting the people and freedoms of our country, to sitting in a hospital with nothing to do. These heroes deserve better. They still need to feel they have a purpose and they also need to know they are not forgotten. Giving a veteran a craft kit accomplished both.

We here at Coming Home Foundation are excited to share our sponsorship of Re-Creation. Re-Creation is a group of young volunteers that performs over 300 shows per year at VA medical centers and state veterans homes.

These state veterans homes have many veterans that don't have any family left. Forgotten service men and women who have outlived their family and friends. This is where many veterans from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam will spend the balance of their lives.

Having a live performance and receiving a craft kit is a high point in their stay. It is our mission to remind these heroes that they (and their sacrifices) are not forgotten.
